The Lihovar Riverside project, spearheaded by Trigema, represents a visionary redevelopment of Prague’s historic Smíchov district. Situated on the former site of one of the city’s largest distilleries, Fischl a synové, this ambitious endeavor aims to blend the area’s rich industrial heritage with contemporary urban living, fostering a vibrant community that harmoniously integrates residential, cultural, and commercial spaces.
Encompassing a diverse array of offerings, Lihovar Riverside is set to feature 535 residential units, ranging from efficient 1+kk layouts to expansive 5+kk apartments complete with rooftop terraces and jacuzzis. Beyond housing, the development will serve as a cultural and gastronomic hub, boasting one of Prague’s largest food markets, a five-story contemporary art gallery housed in the historic Varna building, and approximately 7,400 square meters of retail space, including a supermarket, local boutiques, and cafés. The project also emphasizes sustainability and community engagement, with plans for green rooftops, public spaces, and art installations.
To ensure the seamless integration of modern design within the historical context, Trigema collaborated with Virtuplex, utilizing their state-of-the-art virtual reality (VR) platform. This partnership enabled architects and developers to immerse themselves in a comprehensive VR model of the Lihovar Riverside project, facilitating real-time evaluations and refinements of both interior and exterior designs. Through Virtuplex’s immersive environment, the team could anticipate spatial dynamics, optimize layouts, and make informed decisions that enhance the overall functionality and aesthetic appeal of the development. This innovative approach not only streamlined the design process but also provided a compelling visual tool to engage stakeholders, future residents, and municipal authorities, effectively conveying the project’s vision and securing necessary approvals.
