Set in the heart of Prague’s Smíchov district, the new headquarters of Česká Spořitelna represents a bold vision for the future of workplace environments. Designed by Baumschlager Eberle and Pavel Hnilička Architects + Planners (PHAP) and slated for completion in 2028, this state-of-the-art complex will unify over 5,500 employees under one roof, fostering collaboration and innovation within an eco-conscious and community-focused setting. The project is a key part of the broader Smíchov City redevelopment with a total area of 75,000 m², integrating seamlessly with the surrounding urban landscape.
Virtuplex played a crucial role in the early-stage development of the headquarters by providing a full-scale virtual environment to visualize and refine the architectural design. Stakeholders, including architects, bank representatives, and urban planners, leveraged Virtuplex’s VR platform to explore spatial layouts, test user flows, and assess workplace ergonomics before finalizing design decisions.
Through immersive simulations, the project team was able to optimize interior layouts, evaluate lighting conditions, and fine-tune public and employee spaces. The ability to walk through the virtual headquarters in real time allowed decision-makers to ensure that the building supports both operational efficiency and employee well-being. Additionally, Virtuplex’s VR technology provided a powerful communication tool for engaging with municipal authorities, demonstrating how the headquarters will contribute to the evolving Smíchov district.
Virtuplex’s VR platform transformed the decision-making process for Česká Spořitelna’s headquarters, enabling a dynamic and iterative design approach. By allowing real-time collaboration among architects, executives, and city planners, Virtuplex helped streamline approvals and refine key design elements before construction. The ability to test layouts, assess user experience, and validate architectural concepts in a virtual space ensured a more efficient planning process, reducing the risk of costly modifications down the line. This pioneering use of VR reinforces the project’s ambition to create not just a corporate headquarters but a vibrant, people-centric workspace that redefines modern banking environments.
